Emeline Michel is the reigning queen of Haitian song: a captivating performer, versatile vocalist, and one of the premier Haitian songwriters of her generation. Casuarina, one of the most respected samba bands of Brazil, has conquered the music scene in Brazil and abroad with their original, sophisticated compositions and arrangements. Jamaican veteran musician Brushy One String evokes the sweetness of soul singers like Percy Sledge and Louis Armstrong, the grit and wit of Delta bluesmen, and a dance hall verve, all woven together with ingenuity, his husky and versatile voice—and his one-string guitar.
